Delivery Service & Post Room

The House of Representatives is an organisation with many traditions and certain positions within it have existed for many centuries. This is true for example in the case of the messenger. In the old days, the Messengers of the States-General travelled from one province to another to deliver the messages entrusted to them. Today, they are responsible for the distribution of urgent documents within the premises. The Post Room takes care of all other incoming and outgoing mail. The Messengers preserve law and order during parliamentary sittings, in cooperation with the Security Department and the Police. They are also in charge of meeting room bookings, including the facilities necessary, from coffee or tea to a beamer. They see to it that all other offices and services do what they have to do to facilitate the primary process at the right time, so that each meeting can run smoothly
