Secretary General

The Secretary-General advises the President, the House and the Presidium about procedural and constitutional aspects of the tasks of the House. During plenary sessions she is seated on the right-hand side of the President.

The Secretary-General is furthermore responsible for the civil service and directly manages the services which are closest associated with the political process. These are the Committee Assistance Department, the Registry & Legislation Bureau, the Department of Press, Media & Public Relations, the Research and Verification Office and the Ceremonial Duties Office.

On November 2nd 2004, Jacqueline Biesheuvel-Vermeijden was sworn as Secretary-General of the Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal.
