Standing Committees of the House of Representatives

The House of Representatives deals with most subjects in so-called standing committees. They consider bills and discuss government policies with ministers and state secretaries. There are standing committees for each department, except the Prime Minister’s Ministry of General Affairs. The picture shows a standing committee meeting in progress. The rooms where committee meetings are held are located in the modern part of the Binnenhof complex, which was built in the 1990s.
