President of the House opens EPTA-conference read aloud (this opens a new window)

On October 17 and 28, the Netherlands will host the EPTA-conference ‘Inspiring future politics’. This European technological congress will be held on the premises of the Dutch Parliament. The President of the House of Representatives, Ms. Gerdi Verbeet will opens the conference.

Social and political implications of technological development
During the annual congress, the participants will discuss the social and political implications of technological developments. EPTA is short for European Parliamentary Technology Assessment. EPTA consists of technological institutes from various European countries.

Rathenau-institute
The Rathenau-institute is the technological institute of the Netherlands. The House of Representatives cooperates with the Institute on a regular basis. The Rathenau-institute shows the influence of science and technology on our daily lives through investigation and debate.

Participants to the congress are:

  • Representatives of European technological institutes;
  • Parliamentarians from home and abroad;
  • Various scientists and investigators in the field of technology and innovation.
