Hearings temporary committee Investigation Financial Systems 
The temporary committee Investigating Financial Systems, also known as the De Wit committee (after its Chair, mr. Jan de Wit), held its first public hearing on Monday 18 January 2010.. The hearings will continue for 3 weeks. The schedule of the public hearings can be read here.
The hearings will be held in the Inquiry room of the Dutch House of Representatives. The hearings are open to the public.
Two-fold investigation
The committee is looking into the developments and problems of the financial system in general and the financial system in the Netherlands in particular. The committee’s investigation will be two-fold.The first part of the investigation will examine the cause of the credit crisis, structural problems and measures taken. The second part will look into the period from 22 September 2008 and after, when the government intervened in the financial sector.
Time plan
The first part of the parliamentary investigation finished at the end of 2009. The second part is scheduled to commence from 2010 and completed at the end of the year. The committee consists of the following members:
