Round-table meeting on the credit crisis read aloud (this opens a new window)

On Wednesday November 26, the Tweede Kamer organizes a round-table discussion about the credit crisis. The meeting will start at 12.30 pm The standing committee for finances will meet with directors and board members of several large banks and insurance companies in the Netherlands. On the agenda is the current international credit crisis and the role banks and insurance companies play in the crisis.

Banks
During the first part of the meeting, from 12.30 until 15.30 pm, the presidents of the boards of the banks will be heard. The following presidents of the board will be present:

  • Mr. Floris Deckers (Van Lanschot Bankiers)
  • Mr. Jan Peter Schmittman (ABN Amro)
  • Mr. Bert Heemskerk (Rabobank)
  • Mr. Sjoerd van Keulen (SNS Bank)
  • Mr. Jan van Rutte (Fortis)
  • Mr. Michel Tilmant (ING)
  • Mr. Willem Cramer (Fiesland bank)
  • Mr. Dirk Scheringa (DSB Bank)
  • Mr. Peter Blom (Triodos Bank)
Insurance companies
During the second half of the meeting, from 15.45 until 17.45 pm, presidents of the board of various insurance companies will discuss the credit crisis with Members of Parliament. They are:
  • Mr. Marco Keim (Aegon)
  • Mr. Niek Hoek (Delta Lloyd)
  • Mr. Jos Baeten (Fortis)
  • Mr. Lard Friese (Nationale Nederlanden)
