The House visits Denmark
From Wednesday September 3 until Saturday September 6, the standing committee for Social Affairs and Employment will pay a working visit to Denmark. The delegation will focus on the active labour market policy in Denmark. Issues for discussion are labour participation of young disabled people and the elderly, free traffic of employees, the role and vision of Danish trade unions and flexicurity among other things.
Flexicurity
Flexicurity is a combination of a flexible labour market with good social services and insurances for social security. Important elements of the Danish model are a flexible labour market with limited employment protection, relatively high unemployment benefits for a short period of time and an activating labour market policy.
Meetings
The Members of Parliament will have meetings with members of the standing committee for Employment of the Danish Parliament and Mr Flemming Kuehn, special advisor employment strategy for the ministry of employment.
