House visits Saudi-Arabia. read aloud (this opens a new window)

The aim of the working visit is to exchange knowledge and ideas. That is why there are many talks and meetings on the programme. The visit emphasizes the good relations between the Netherlands and Saudi-Arabia.

Return visit
This working visit is a return visit by the Dutch House of Representatives. In December 2004, a delegation of the Majlis as Shura (the advisory parliament of Saudi-Arabia) visited the Netherlands.

During the visit to the Shura, the Dutch delegation will conduct talks with:

  • The Saudi-Dutch Friendship Committee of the Shura;

  • Members of the standing committee on Foreign Affairs of the Shura;

  • Women Consultants of the Shura Council;

  • The President of the Shura, Sheikh Saleh Bin Hamid.

Human rights movements
The programme includes introductory talks with the governor of Riyadh and with the ministers of Foreign Affairs and of Higher Education. In addition, the delegates will have meetings with several human rights movements.The delegation will also conduct talks with delegates of various NGO’s in Jeddah. (Non Governmental Organizations).
