House of Representatives visits Sudan 
Members of the committee for Foreign Affairs paid a working visit to Sudan from Saturday July 5 until Saturday July 12. The working visit aimed to obtain an insight in the political situation in Sudan. The focus point was the implementation of the peace treaty between the government and the South-Sudanese independence movement SPLM. In addition, the visit paid attention to the state of humanitarian and safety issues.
Redevelopment South-Sudan
The delegation of MPs wished to be informed about the role of the Netherlands in the redevelopment of South-Sudan and the humanitarian aid to Darfur. The report of the working visit will form the basis for a general committee meeting on September 9 with the minister of Foreign Affairs and of Development Cooperation.
