Committee Assistance Department

Members of the Tweede Kamer often meet in (standing) committees. Every committee is supported by a clerk and one or more deputy clerks. They know all about the field of activity of their committee; they arrange meetings, working visits and other activities. They advise on bills and other political subjects and assist the chairperson of the committee in their tasks. They support the President of the House in debates about their field of activity, often together with the Secretary-General.
