Parliamentary Bureau for Research and Public Expenditure
The members of the Tweede Kamer make use of investigations regularly: a parliamentary inquiry, an investigation in a temporary committee or to contract out a research assignment to the staff of the Tweede Kamer or an external organisation. Whenever internal or external investigations are in progress, the Tweede Kamer is given advice and assistance by the competent and independent experts of the parliamentary research department referred to as the Parliamentary Bureau for Research and Public Expenditure. The bureau also examines inquiries the Tweede Kamer receives from the government: is the text correct and do the conclusions and policy plans result from the investigation?
