Every Thursday, the Tweede Kamer decides which topics will be dealt with at next week’s meetings. The Registry & Registration Office draws up the agenda and notifies the Ministers and State Secretaries who are required to attend the meeting. They also make a long term schedule and compile voting lists, which make it clear to the MPs what bills, amendments and motions will be voted on and when. The text of each bill or amendment submitted by an MP is checked and assessed by the Legislation Office. Is the text structured correctly? Does the proposed regulation meet the juridical standards? Once the bills have been adopted by the Tweede Kamer, the Office of the Secretary-General forwards them to the Senate, the Eerste Kamer.
