Contact group Germany

A contact group provides a forum for (informal) contact between members of the House of Representatives and MPs and the embassy of the country concerned. Contacts often take place through (foreign) working visits and visits by MPs from abroad.

The Germany Contact Group was established in 2003 to maintain regular contact with German MPs. In its activities, the contact group strives to take into account as much as possible the federal state structure in Germany and the fact that the German-Dutch border regions require continuous attention. On the one hand, because they face specific issues, but on the other hand because they also offer unique opportunities for cooperation. The contact group therefore aims to organise at least one activity per year with members of the Bundestag at the national level, one activity at the Länder level (the federal states), with members of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia or Lower Saxony, and one activity in one of the border regions.
