Digital Affairs

Digitalisation is altering our society. New technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), algorithms and Big Data have significant impact, especially in conjunction with each other. Developments happen quickly and impact not only employment, security, democracy and privacy but also the relations between citizens and between citizens and the government.

The Standing Committee on Digital Affairs focuses in particular on these developments and their impact. The committee ensures that digital topics are coherently dealt with in the various policy areas.

The committee deals with six topics, on which it also holds committee debates. Moreover, it acts as a 'support committee' on various subjects dealt with by other committees. In doing so, the House fully utilises the know-how of the members of the Standing Committee on Digital Affairs.
