On Wednesday June 19 the House will debate the recent problems with the Fyra high speed train, after an expert meeting on June 18.

On Wednesday June 19 the House will debate the recent problems with the high speed train connection between Amsterdam and Brussels. Dutch railway operator NS and Belgian NMBS recently announced that they have decided not to use the Fyra-trains that were specially ordered for the high speed connection between Amsterdam and Brussels. Earlier this year the new trains were taken out of service because of serious technical failures. Both governments are backing the decision by the railway companies. A majority of the political  parties in the House also announced that they will start a parliamentary enquiry about the Fyra-case.

Hearing The committee for infrastructure and environment organises a parliamentary hearing on June 18 about the recent developments around the Fyra. The CEO's of NS and NMBS are invited, as well as the CEO of the Italian company AnsaldoBreda, that has build the trains. Members of the Belgian Parliament will participate in the hearing.
