Dutch MPs took part in monitoring Russian parliamentary elections

A delegation of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands participated in an international election observation mission to observe the parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation.

A delegation of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands participated in an international election observation mission to observe the parliamentary elections in the Russian Federation from 2 until 5 December. The Dutch MPs were part of a delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).


Russia’s parliamentary elections were held on 4 December 2011. The Russian election was monitored by international observers. The international observation was a joint project involving the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (OSCE PA), and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

The Dutch delegation consisted of the following Members:

  • Ms Ingrid de Caluwé (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy)
  • Ms Kathleen Ferrier (Christian Democratic Appeal)
