House of Representatives appoints Edith Schippers as informateur for 2017 Cabinet formation
In the plenary debate on the election results held on Tuesday 28 March 2017, the House of Representatives appointed Ms Edith Schippers as informateur, to begin the process of forming a new Cabinet. She has been instructed to investigate whether a stable government of VVD, CDA, D66 and GroenLinks is possible.
During the debate, the House agreed to update both the President of the House as well as the King regularly on the process of forming a new Cabinet.
The President of the House had informed the members of the House that she will visit the King later today to inform him about the outcome of the debate. She will then receive the informateur for an introductory meeting. This will take place in the Stadholder's Room in the House of Representatives.
