Health, Welfare and Sport

Youth care, the healthcare insurance system, long-term care, medical ethics and lifestyle prevention are just a few of the many subjects dealt with by the Standing Committee on Health, Welfare and Sport. The committee oversees the work of the government by holding regular debates with the Minister and the State Secretaries of Health, Welfare and Sport. The committee also examines new legislation and organises round-table talks with experts, scientists and other individuals or organisations in the field. It also carries out occasional working visits or receives petitions and letters from citizens and organisations. The members of the committee use this information in debates or when asking written or oral questions of the government.
