The standing committee for Foreign Affairs discusses the situation in Syria on Thursday May 23 with minister Frans Timmersmans of Foreign Affairs. The minister recently informed the House of Representatives about the discussions on Syria in the European Council of minister of Foreign Affairs. The Dutch government welcomes the recent approval by the General Assembly’s of the United Nations approval of a resolution condemning the escalation of violence and killings in Syria.
