Speaker of the House visited Brussels and London

The Speaker of the House, ms. Anouchka van Miltenburg, visited Brussels on July 8 and 9 and London on July 10, 11 and 12. In Brussels she met with mr. Herman van Rompuy, president of the European Council, and in London ms. Van Miltenburg had a meeting with deputy prime minister mr. Nick Clegg (photo).

Ms. Anouchka van Miltenburg, Speaker of the House of Representatives, visited Brussels on July 8 and 9. She had meetings with mr. Herman van Rompuy, president of the European Council, and mr. Martin Schulz, the president of the European Parliament. She also had separate meetings with Dutch members of the European Parliament and Dutch citizens, working for European institutions in Brussels. Ms. Van Miltenburg also visited the offices of several organisations and institutions.

London
After her visit to Brussel ms. Van Miltenburg went to London, where she met the Speakers of the House of Lords and the House of Commons. She also had a meeting with deputy prime minister mr. Nick Clegg and the minister for Europe, mr. David Lidington. On the programme there were also  meetings with several other members of the British Parliament. Ms. Van Miltenburg also paid a visit to the BBC-newsroom.
