The standing committee for Infrastructure and Environment will organize a public hearing about the alternatives for the Fyra trains on the high speed railway connection between Amsterdam and Brussels.

The standing committee for Infrastructure and Environment will organize a public hearing about the alternatives for the Fyra trains on the high speed railway connection between Amsterdam and Brussels.

Alternatives
The state secretary for Transport ms. Wilma Mansveld recently presented new alternatives for the high speed railway connection between Amsterdam and Brussels. The alternatives were suggested by the Dutch and Belgian railway companies NS and NMBS. Earlier this year both companies announced they will not run the Italian build Fyra V250 trains on the high speed railway. Therefore it became necessary to find alternatives for a good railway connection between the capitals of The Netherlands and Belgium.

Public hearing
Before discussing these alternatives with cabinet members, the standing committee for Infrastructure and Environment will organise a public  hearing with experts and stakeholders on October 17.  Directly afterwards  the committee will have a public debate with ms. Mansveld and the minister of Finance, Jeroen Dijsselbloem.
