Biography

"Let people be"

The outcome of the 2023 elections has only made me more eager to fight for our ideals. We want to make the Netherlands a social, fair, and green country in which everyone is accepted for who they are. No one should be left behind and everyone should have the chance to be heard.

Learning on the job

As an MP, you become a real expert on the topics in your portfolio and learn how to accomplish your goals. I have found that it is very important to keep reminding yourself of why and for whom you entered politics. The environment of the House of Representatives is not always safe, due in part to social media, but you do get used to it after a while.

Travelling the country

I am a hard worker and I love what I do. The people I get to meet all across the country energise me and encourage me to keep going, whether they are youth workers fighting youth crime, bereaved families of victims of femicide, or the police officers who keep us safe every day. I love talking to people, both digitally and face to face, as it lets me translate solutions into actionable proposals. At the end of the day, I entered politics to come up with practical solutions to make people’s lives better.

Leisure

For me, there is no better place to relax than at home, on the sofa, sipping a cup of tea. I am also a keen home cook. There is nothing quite as relaxing as being surrounded by your loved ones, family, and friends.
