What does this MP stand for?

Three questions for Sjoukje van Oosterhout.

1. What drives you to serve as an MP?

In recent years, climate policy has stalled. In court, we managed to force major polluters to take action. I hope to achieve the same progress in politics.

2. What would you change about the Netherlands?

Above all, climate and energy policy. The challenge ahead of us is huge. I hope we finally start meeting our climate targets. We should phase out fossil subsidies and make major advances in wind energy, especially offshore. And we need to bring down people’s energy bills

3. Who inspires you?

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, AOC. She built a grassroots movement in The Bronx and inspired many who never voted to become politically engaged.
