What does this MP stand for?

Three questions for Fatihya Abdi.

1. What drives you to serve as an MP?

I want everyone in the Netherlands to be able to move forward in life, regardless of their background, their parents' income or where they live. I was born here as the child of a refugee and benefited greatly from strong public services, such as high-quality education. Now my goal is for other children to get the same opportunities I did.

2. What would you change about the Netherlands?

Many people currently feel the government treats them as little more than numbers. I would like to see that change. People should feel the government will stand with them when times get tough. To get there, we have to solve problems and explain to people our course of action.

3. Who inspires you?

My mother, because she single-handedly raised three children with tremendous optimism and perseverance. She also showed me the importance of always looking out for others.
