What does this MP stand for?
Three questions for Henk Jumelet.
1. What drives you to serve as an MP?
Everyone matters and everyone should be able to join in. There are still things we can improve, and that is what I want to work on, especially the interests of the northern part of the country. I come from Drenthe myself, so I will bring a down-to-earth northern outlook to the job.
2. What would you change about the Netherlands?
We should treat each other with more respect and allow people to be themselves. When it comes to the economy, I want us to focus on the future through innovation.
3. Who inspires you?
Theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who opposed the Nazi regime in Germany. I am impressed by his ability to keep spreading hope despite all the setbacks he faced and saw around him.
