What does this MP stand for?
Three questions for Annelotte Lammers.
1. What drives you to serve as an MP?
I want to put Dutch people first again. In my previous job as a lawyer at the Immigration and Naturalisation Service, I saw how policy worked out in practice and I often felt sidelined: I could only implement official policy. That is why I want to be involved in the legislative side, where laws are made.
2. What would you change about the Netherlands?
I want Dutch people to feel at home again in their city, neighbourhood or street. I want our national identity and our values, rooted in Christian and Jewish traditions, to be placed back at the centre.
3. Who inspires you?
I would have to say Geert Wilders. He does not shy away from naming problems, even when they are uncomfortable truths. If we stop naming them, we will never solve them. In my personal life my mother is a real source of inspiration.
