What does this MP stand for?

Three questions for Ouafa Oualhadj.

1. What drives you to serve as an MP?

The growing tendency towards fear and closed-mindedness worries me, as it is the opposite of the open country I believe in. I want to help build a society where everyone’s talent counts and where we are recognised again as a country of peace and justice.

2. What would you change about the Netherlands?

I want to work on a future-focused, open economy with strong emphasis on innovation. A smarter economy is the basis for a sustainable future with opportunities for all.

3. Who inspires you?

I am inspired by people who dare to dream and act, such as author Leïla Slimani. Her hopeful voice opens up new perspectives. She shows that you can be proud of your background and still stand up for universal values. Her conviction that change is possible if you have the courage to stand up for your ideals is a real source of motivation.
