What does this MP stand for?

Two questions for Pieter Grinwis.

1. What drives you to serve as an MP?

I grew up on a farm in Goeree Overflakkee and later moved to The Hague for work. My motivation is to connect the needs of the countryside and the city. As a municipal councillor I saw a great deal of misery and hardship: poor housing in neglected neighbourhoods with forgotten residents. I want to give them a voice in parliament.

2. What would you change about the Netherlands?

We need affordable homes for young and old. We have to climb out of the nitrogen quagmire and improve our power grid. Although it may sound dull to some, we also need a simpler and fairer tax and benefits system. I have drawn up plans for a new system and want to put them into practice.
