What does this MP stand for?
Three questions for Etkin Armut.
1. What drives you to serve as an MP?
I have been interested in history, politics and society from a young age. As a substitute teacher, I had the opportunity to teach vmbo pupils about these important themes. We cannot take our democracy for granted and have to strengthen it together. I would like everyone to be involved.
2. What would you change about the Netherlands?
With the CDA, I want to help deliver structural solutions that will genuinely improve people's lives. We need more community spirit and connection, and politicians who are more firmly rooted in society and are not swayed by today's headlines.
3. Who inspires you?
Angela Merkel, for being Germany's first female chancellor and for her down-to-earth, powerful leadership style.
