Biography

“I want to stay true to my mission, regardless of public opinion”

I am a highly analytical person who enjoys sinking his teeth into complicated issues. As an MP, I hope to bring integrity and empathy to politics and base decisions on the real world, not some model reality. NSC has an excellent feel for what is going on in the country. I look forward to building something that will last and keeping each other agile and on our toes.

Digitisation

My mission is to contribute to reforming governance in the Netherlands. My background in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence ties into several of my key goals, such as better protection of fundamental digital rights, working on digital security and getting government information systems in order. We have plenty of work on our hands!

Political interest

I spent more than four years working for the AIVD (General Intelligence and Security Service), where people are expected to be as invisible as possible. Politics is exactly the opposite! While I have an X account, I prefer real-life conversations. I care deeply about 18-to-35 years olds, who have had to sacrifice a lot. On top of that, I feel that politicians have too little regard for people with a vocational degree, and I look forward to engaging with them.

Leisure

My family has always been interested in politics, and I remember watching a lot of political TV when I was younger. In my spare time, I enjoy running to clear my head. I also write stories, and my childhood dream is to write a novel. Weather permitting, I also enjoy meeting up with my girlfriend and friends outside.
