What does this MP stand for?
Three questions for Sandra Beckerman.
1. What drives you to serve as an MP?
I think the Netherlands can be a great country if we distribute wealth more fairly. Tackling inequality would allow us to create strong public services and good neighbourhoods for everyone.
2. What would you change about the Netherlands?
I entered the House of Representatives because of the devastation caused by the state in Groningen through gas extraction. We need a government that trusts people and chooses people over profit.
3. Who inspires you?
Roosje Vos, the first woman elected to the provincial council of Groningen. She was a seamstress and founder of the first women's trade union. She inspires me because she stood up for the rights of women and the working class both on the streets and in parliament.
