Biography

“You have to fight for your goals”

Equal opportunities were a key reason for me to enter politics, because I experienced first hand how important they are. Success was certainly not a given for an 'ordinary' guy like me, and I did not realise until I was older that I would have to fight for my goals. Through trial and error, I eventually made a career in business, and after seven years in the corporate world, I realised it was time to follow my passion. As a liberal, I believe that life is what you make of it, regardless of where you were born or what family you are from. That is why I joined the VVD.

Key years

I am also keen on making a difference. I have a great sense of responsibility and when the going gets tough, I want nothing more than to roll up my sleeves and fight for better times. There are very important topics on today’s political agenda that will have tremendous impact on our country for decades to come. I believe in investing in the economy and creating more good jobs. On top of that, we will have to keep pursuing innovation in order to foster sustainability, protect the climate and keep the Netherlands safe.

Personal commitment

In the years to come, I will also keep a keen eye on the interests of my home province of Limburg, helping the people there to make the most of their opportunities.
