Biography

“Healing the heart of democracy”

I worry about Dutch democracy. In my work as a legislative lawyer, including at the Ministry of the Interior, I became increasingly aware of the state of our democratic rule of law, and I did not like what I saw. I firmly believe that the voice of the Dutch people is no longer the supreme authority in our country. The interests of the people are subordinated to coalition agreements, party discipline and the EU.

Floating voter

With the founding of FvD, I finally found a party that shared my concerns. I never intended to enter politics and used to be a floating voter, but Forum suits me perfectly. Since I started working for the party, I have had the opportunity to gain a lot of experience as a group member in the House and as a provincial councillor in Zuid-Holland. Being elected MP has been a great honour.

Freedom of expression

As an MP, I want to stand up for fundamental rights that have come under pressure, such as our freedom of expression and the right to demonstrate. Dutch people should get their voice back, which is one of the reasons why FvD cares so deeply about referendums.
