What does this MP stand for?

Three questions for Anne-Marijke Podt.

1. What drives you to serve as an MP?

The best part of parliamentary work is that you can genuinely make a difference for people. That is what I work for every day: to make this country a little better together with our people.

2. What would you change about the Netherlands?

A lot of Dutch people feel disconnected from politics. In recent years I have travelled throughout the country to talk to people: newcomers and people who have been here for a long time, people who need a helping hand and those who provide it, people who agree with my party and those who do not. I want to stay outside the political bubble, have genuine conversations and shape solutions that people trust.

3. Who inspires you?

Pia Dijkstra, a hugely driven and humane politician who has achieved remarkable things, such as the organ donation act and other medical ethical legislation. She has made a big difference for many people.
