The House will debate plans by the government  to close 24 prison facilities  all over the country on Thursday.

The House had a debate with the prime minister about the recent EU-summit. 

The House discussed recent strikes by employees of the European Union.  

The standing committee for Foreign Affairs discussesd the situation  in Syria.

On Thursday May 23 the committee on foreign trade and development cooperation will have a debate with minister ms Lilianne Ploumen about her recently published policy document.

Every year on the third Wednesday in May, Accountability day, the Cabinet presents a survey of the financial state of affairs with regard to the previous budget year to the House of Representatives.

The President of the Senate, mr Fred de Graaf, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, ms Anouchka van Miltenburg, have launched the joint website www.staten-generaal.nl.

On Wednesday 10 April the temporary committee on house prices presented its final report. The committee has carried out an investigation into twenty years of rising property prices in the Netherlands and five years of falling prices.

The House has adopted a motion put forward by Mr Duco Hoogland MP (Labour Party, PvdA) expressing disapproval of  the fourth EU railway package.

Nine members of the standing committee  for foreign affairs visit the People’s Republic  of China  during the May recess.  

On Wednesday May 15 – Accountability Day – the Minister of Finance presents the National Financial Annual Report and the ministries’ annual reports in the House of Representatives.  

From Tuesday 5 March until Friday 8 March 2013 the Inter-parliamentary Kingdom Consultation between the parliaments of the Netherlands, Curacao, Aruba and Sint Maarten takes place in The Hague.

On Tuesday 7 March 2013 the annual debate on the State of Affairs in the European Union will take place.

On Tuesday 12 Februari 2013 Mr Titus Corlăţean, minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, paid a visit to the House of Representatives.

The House of Representatives will be in recess from Friday 15 February 2013 until Monday 25 February 2013. The next plenary debate will be on Tuesday 26 February 2013.
