EU rapporteurs per committee

Committees can appoint members as rapporteurs for a specific subject. A rapporteur delves into the subject and advises the committee on how the handle the subject. Usually a committee appoints two or more members as rapporteurs for a subject. The rapporteurs can call on support from civil servants in the House of Representatives.
There is an EU rapporteurship for European subjects. This is one of the instruments that parliamentary committees can use to gain better insight into and control over European decision-making and to properly carry out their supervisory task. They are often appointed for a specific EU proposal.
