What does this MP stand for?

Three questions for Tom van der Lee.

1. What drives you to serve as an MP?

“All things precious are defenceless,” wrote Lucebert. I believe you have to fight for what is vulnerable, as those interests are often pushed aside.

2. What would you change about the Netherlands?

The country should become greener and more social, so that future generations can also enjoy a liveable future.

3. Who inspires you?

Sicco Mansholt. He was a Groningen native who fought for what was then the poorest region of the country. He pushed through radical agricultural reforms before recognising that intensive farming was incompatible with a sustainable future, which is why he pressed for a transition.
