What does this MP stand for?
Three questions for Corrie van Brenk.
1. What drives you to serve as an MP?
I want to make the voices of older people heard in the House of Representatives. Many parties treat them as an afterthought, but for us they come first. Everyone turns 50 eventually, so it concerns us all.
2. What would you change about the Netherlands?
We want to be a calm, unifying force in the House of Representatives. I want more senior housing, and I believe we must not cut healthcare or state pensions. No one deserves to end their life in poverty.
3. Who inspires you?
I worked for the country's senior citizens’ network. The volunteers there support their communities every day, and that is deeply inspiring. They help me understand exactly which challenges senior citizens face.
