What does this MP stand for?
Three questions for Laurens Dassen.
1. What drives you to serve as an MP?
I quit my job to enter the House of Representatives because I was concerned about climate change, social inequality and the rise of populism. I was inspired by a young, pan-European party with fresh ideas, and I wanted to contribute.
2. What would you change about the Netherlands?
I want children to grow up with a safe, green and European future ahead of them. We have to break the status quo. Dutch people are capable of much more than politicians would have us believe.
3. Who inspires you?
My partner Britte inspires me. She is kind, brilliant, honest and highly driven, and she brings out the best in me and others.
